Anafonitria is a small village in the northwestern part of the island of Zakynthos that takes its name from the 14th-century monastery of Panagia Anagonitria. Anafonitria is a historic town 30 kilometers from the city of Zakynthos and the main harbor. The village is near one of the island's most famous attractions, the Shipwreck, from where visitors may enjoy a panoramic view from the terrace built at the top, while the beach is only accessible by boat.
